If you are ever having a rough day, just turn to Russian Edward Hill Caramelldansen for a little pick me up. One of our team members here did everyone the disservice (or was it a blessing?) of passing along this little clip.
At first, you can’t help but wonder “What in the heck is this cheesy mess of a song?” It sounds ridiculous and awful, but give it 2 or 3 plays. Before you know it, you are humming and singing this lyric-less nightmare at work, in the car, at home, it’s haunting! I haven’t seen a song with this kind of relentless ability to stick in your head since “She’s like the wind” by Patrick Swayze. Tell me you aren’t a fan! That song has been known to follow people home as well.
The thing is, as bad as the song is, I want a day where I can share a fraction of Edward’s happiness. I love my life, but holy moly, this is one jolly dude. He’s got a permanent you-know-what eating grin that can’t help but rub off on you. Give it a shot. It’s sweeping the nation. You’ll be so happy and so mad at the same time. Imagine how happy this guy would be if his song actually had lyrics! All I can say about this brown-hued mess of a video from 1976 is “WOW.” Russia, congrats! You’ve got yourself an icon.
